Inside the free lesson

The foundation, in the right order.

Most beginners start with the wrong thing and give up in week one. This lesson starts where every good skater started: with the basics underneath everything else.

  1. 1

    Stand up the right way

How to get up from the floor on skates, without wobbling or grabbing the nearest wall.

  2. 2

    Find your position

The stance that keeps you balanced, and why standing up straight is what makes you wobble.

  3. 3

Stand still & shift your weight

Stay steady on the spot, then move your weight from foot to foot. The very first hurdle, and the move every glide starts with.

Is this for you?

Made for the very beginning.

  • You've never stood on skates and don't know where to start.
  • You tried once, fell, and haven't put them on since.
  • You're 30, 40 or older and wondering if it's too late. It isn't.

Your teacher

Hi, I'm Patrizia — the Sundown Skater.

I've spent four years teaching roller skating and built Switzerland's first roller skate school. Hundreds of beginners later, I know exactly where people get stuck — and it's almost never talent.

Every beginner I teach in person starts with exactly these basics: standing, position, weight. Now you can start with them too, wherever you live.
